Video and Photography
I've always loved writing. That's why I was surprised to discover that I also love the process of capturing and editing photographs and video. The saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" is cliche but true. With my camera, I can write with colour and light rather than with letters and punctuation and reach a broader an audience than with writing alone.
I have taken every image in this portfolio using my Lumix digital camera. I edited some of the photographs with Photoshop or Lightroom, and edited all of the videos with Premiere Pro.

Video Production
Using Premiere Pro, I create videos for various research projects and websites. Many of the videos explain the research being conducted, their findings, and next steps. I created one such video for a Can-SOLVE-related project conducted by the LHSC Trials Team in 2022. A number of the other videos I've edited are not yet available because the research projects are ongoing and not yet published.
During my time with Western Media Studios, I worked with the Argyle Business Improvement Association. COVID-19 struck the small business owners in this part of town particularly hard. We were happy to create community- and specific business-based "aditorials" in the form of blog articles and brief videos. A number of the photos below were taken in Argyle, and the videos above are intended to draw people to the neighbourhood in order to improve the traffic to these small businesses.
